1. What chip is
chip is a platform for skill-based 1v1 video game contests between participants. Participants create or join contests, pay an entry fee, play their match on a third-party game (FIFA, League of Legends, NBA 2K, Madden), report the result, and the winner receives a prize. Outcomes are determined by player skill — chip does not operate games of chance.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) and legally permitted to participate in skill-based contests where you reside. You are responsible for understanding the laws that apply to you. chip is not available to residents of jurisdictions where skill-based contests with entry fees and prizes are prohibited.
3. Account
One account per person. You are responsible for keeping your credentials and your verified email address secure. We may suspend or close accounts that are duplicate, fraudulent, collusive, or otherwise in violation of these Terms.
4. Entry fees, prizes, and platform fee
Entry fees are held in your chip wallet. When two participants enter a contest, both entry fees are escrowed until the contest is resolved. The winner receives the combined entry fees less chip's platform fee. The platform fee is currently 5% of the prize pool. Draws and unresolved contests result in entry-fee refunds to both participants.
5. Reporting and verification
Both participants must report the result of each contest. chip verifies results using a combination of mutual agreement, third-party game APIs (where available), screenshot review, and stream evidence. Where results conflict and cannot be automatically verified, chip's review team will resolve the dispute based on the evidence provided. Submitting false results is grounds for account termination and forfeiture of contested funds.
6. Withdrawals
You may withdraw available wallet funds to a connected payout account once your email is verified. Withdrawals are subject to a 24-hour cooldown after each deposit and a daily withdrawal limit. We may delay or refuse a withdrawal where we reasonably suspect fraud, chargeback abuse, or misuse of the platform.
7. Prohibited conduct
You agree not to: collude with other participants, intentionally lose contests for the benefit of another account, use multiple accounts, exploit bugs in the platform or in third-party games, manipulate match results, harass other participants, or attempt to circumvent chip's verification systems.
8. Third-party games
chip is not affiliated with EA, Riot Games, Take-Two Interactive, or any other game publisher. You are responsible for complying with the terms of service of the games you play.
9. Disclaimers and liability
chip is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, chip's liability is limited to the amount you have on deposit in your wallet at the time of the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of chip after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
